Four year old Aidan has diplegic cerebral palsy. He had a procedure in St. Louis in September of 2013 to try to alleviate some of his pain and now attends physical therapy 4 days a week. While in therapy in St. Louis, Aidan rode an adaptive tricycle which helped him physically as much as it did emotionally.
Aidan’s parents try to give their non-verbal son every chance they can to walk, and knew an adaptive tricycle was just the thing he needed at home. However, Aidan’s parents couldn’t afford the out of pocket expense, and insurance and other aid wasn’t available to help cover the costs.
HCCI was able to help Aidan and his family when no other alternative could be found. Aidan was given an adaptive tricycle and he looks like any other little boy riding his bike! He loves being pushed around the house on it and his family is confident that by spring he will be able to propel the tricycle himself. The adaptive tricycle has even been integrated into his therapy regimen four times a week. Aidan and his family are grateful that HCCI could help give Aidan this gift and a chance at walking when no other source could.
